We are informed by the previous owner that this flute was made by Mr. Kyuzo, former president of Sankyo Flute (when he worked for Muramatsu Flute).The flute has been used with great care and has no major dents that would interfere with playing.
The Tokyo engraving on the barrel suggests that the flute was manufactured before 1973.We checked with the maker, but they said they did not know the details or exact age of the instrument.
This model, made of all silver and with soldered tone holes, corresponds to the current "SR model" and is an instrument from the period before the "DN model", the predecessor of the SR model, and without a model name.
The serial number of this flute is in the 1000’s, and it is definitely a rare flute from a very early period.
The appearance of the flute has been used for a long time, and it seems to have a special aura. While it has the traditional design that is common to modern flutes, it has a precise and beautiful finish that does not feel dated.
It is called "Old Muramatsu" in Japan and is a very rare instrument.
